Tilburstow Media Partners is run by former business and consumer editor and journalist Linda Pettit.
Linda’s career in journalism has spanned a range of magazines including leading business-to-business title The Caterer, which covers the hotels, restaurants and leisure sector, Independent Retail News and SuperMarketing in the food retail sector, and women’s consumer magazine Family Circle.
For several years Linda was the specialist consumer contributor to BBC Radio Solent, discussing anything from the consumer confusion surrounding telecom packages and broadband deals to the price of cabbages. She has been interviewed regarding the E. Coli outbreak in Surrey and the ethics of children’s involvement in raising farm animals in schools. Linda has featured on Radio Four’s You and Yours and appeared as a food consumer adviser on UK Food’s former daily TV food programme, Good Food Live.
As a freelance journalist Linda has contributed to The Grocer, Ideal Home, Zest, Horse & Hound, Horse magazine, Hairdressers Journal, Personnel Today, The Times, Karen magazine, M&C Report, the Ecologist, Martin Information and the British Hospitality Association’s (BHA) UK Trends & Statistics Report. She has also written specialist reports on the foodservice sector for business-to-business specialist William Reed and edited The UK Food & Beverage Report for William Reed, Digest and Dine Out for the Restaurant Association, and Hospitality Matters, the British Hospitality Association’s former quarterly magazine.
In 2008 she landed her first public relations client and switched from journalism to the dark side…but thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and getting to know the companies she works with including: the Academy of Food & Wine Service; Horizons; Host Management (which then become CH&CO); HVS London; HVS Executive Search; Bromley Court Hotel; Clayton Hotel Chiswick; the Wine Guild; Handsfree Handling; CGA by NIQ and the Staycity Group.
Linda is the day-to-day account manager for Tilburstow Media’s clients but brings in additional, specialist support when needed to from a pool of talented former journalists. The other half of Tilburstow Media Partners plays an advisory role in the business, working full-time on one of Britain’s leading national newspapers.
