Dublin-based Staycity Aparthotels has appointed Matt Roberts to the newly created position of Head of Sales.
Roberts joins Staycity from SACO The Serviced Apartment Company, where he was responsible for corporate sales in London and key account management. His career to date includes Director of Sales UK and Ireland for American Express Global Business Travel and with Hogg Robinson Group in various sales and account management positions.
“Matt has an impressive CV with experience of the serviced apartment and travel sectors from a business development and a sales perspective,” commented Staycity CEO and founder Tom Walsh.
“His experience and engaging personality made him the perfect appointment to this newly created role, which is a crucial one as the company continues to grow across the UK and Europe.”
Roberts will be responsible for implementing the company’s business development structure, targeting both the business and leisure markets.
Said Roberts: “It’s an exciting time for Staycity Aparthotels – with a raft of openings ahead, the launch of a new premium brand and the challenge of strong growth across Europe as the aparthotel sector gains market share. I’m very much looking forward to working with the company’s dynamic team and playing a key part in its on-going success.”
This year Staycity will open a 212-unit property in Liverpool’s Corn Exchange along with the first of its premium brand, Wilde Aparthotels by Staycity, on London’s Strand. A further six new sites were announced recently for opening in 2019/20 including Paris, Venice, Berlin, Dublin and Manchester. www.staycity.com
